Can I refuse a truth or dare?
Yes โ agreeing on a "pass" rule before playing is good practice. Allow 1โ2 passes per person per game. Using a pass is fine; being asked something genuinely uncomfortable is a signal that the question was poorly calibrated for where your relationship is. Use passes without penalty and adjust the question intensity going forward.
How do we make Truth or Dare feel natural rather than forced?
The format works better as a conversation starter than a rigid game. If a "truth" opens a genuinely interesting thread, follow it โ don't cut the conversation short to return to the game. The questions are just structure; the real value is what emerges from them. Keep the atmosphere relaxed, and start with Level 1 questions before escalating to deeper territory.
